Forgiveness

In the original Giselle, Giselle not only saves Albrecht from the Wilis' vengeance, she also leads Albrecht to Bathilde.   This is what Osipova is talking about when she speaks of forgiveness in love. The scene between Albrecht and Giselle and Bathilde may not be the Royal Ballet's version of the ballet, but yet it is still there, remembered in the music and spirit of the ballet.  Forgiveness through love.  I forgive you.  I love you.

This is the burden and the wings that give weight and exultation to Giselle.

The Lord says, "my burden is light and my yoke is easy" and " Even youths may faint and grow weary but I will raise you up on wings of the eagle."
